Leongatha South Gippsland Pinot Noir
Wine
Onannon Leongatha South Gippsland Pinot Noir is a blend of several clones of Pinot Noir, typically including MV6 and 777, grown at Leongatha in South Gippsland.
The fruit is destemmed into an open stainless steel pot and fermented with indigenous yeasts. After several weeks on skins, the wine is pressed with full solids to barrels.
Malolactic fermentation occurs in the spring. After 12 months of maturation, the wine is blended to tank where it rests on fine lees for a further two months. It is given a light filtration prior to bottling.
Red purple, Onannon Leongatha South Gippsland Pinot Noir has fresh red berry flavours, smoky oak and a long velvety finish. Cellaring potential is seven years.
